CURA
Designing cancer literacy tools grounded in real-world data
CURA was a four-person healthtech venture shaped by a co-founder's family experience with cancer and by cancer-literacy research in Ho Chi Minh City. The initial phase analyzed more than 100 survey responses and helped secure university funding for a later university and hospital collaboration that expanded the study to more than 1,000 residents. As Co-Founder and UI/UX lead, I translated the research outputs, demographic inputs, and pilot feedback into a prevention product for high-risk individuals and their families.
Role
Co-Founder and UI/UX lead. I owned the interface structure, user flows, product framing, screen hierarchy, and the interaction model for Kobi, our AI recommendation layer.
Audience
High-risk individuals in Ho Chi Minh City, with a secondary audience of family members trying to monitor older loved ones from a distance.
Constraints
Built inside the Duke Kunshan University DII startup incubator with a fixed budget, fixed go-to-market timeline, and local health-data/legal constraints. We had to move from research to a usable product without overengineering the experience.
