Pilot testing and literacy analysis
The starting point was a CHLT-30-based cancer-literacy survey in Ho Chi Minh City. I helped analyze more than 100 initial responses, which supported university funding for a broader collaboration. A later university and hospital partnership expanded the study to more than 1,000 residents. During product development, I used the resulting research signals, demographic inputs, and design feedback to identify where the interface needed to reduce friction.
Research Role
The research surfaced literacy gaps around prevention, screening, symptoms, and risk understanding. Those themes shaped which product moments needed education, reassurance, progressive disclosure, or simpler language.
Key UX Learning
The original experience asked for too much context before delivering value. The redesign moved toward progressive disclosure, familiar tracking metaphors, and plain-language explanations instead of dense dashboards.
